For years, you’ve been asking us for a convention mascot. Now, we are incredibly proud to announce that the renowned Japanese studio Kyoto Animation has designed a dedicated character for AnimagiC! The character (see image above) was revealed during AnimagiC 2026’s opening ceremony.

AnimagiC2026にご来場の皆様、Guten Abend!
この度は、歴史あるアニメコンベンションAnimagiCのキャラクターを描き下ろすことができ、光栄に存じます。AnimagiCはアニメファンが多く集うイベントでもありますので、
アニメに登場するようなイメージでキャラクターを描きました。
また、装飾のモチーフとして用いた花はドイツの国花である「矢車菊（Kornblume）」と
日本の国花である「菊（Chrysantheme）」をイメージしています。
国花が同じキク科の花であることに親和性を感じ、ドイツの皆様と日本のアニメを
結ぶ縁の象徴になれば、という想いを込めました。
そして、キャラクターの差し出す手が、AnimagiCやアニメがつなぐ交流へと皆様を
案内することができれば幸いに思います。
楽しんでくださるファンの皆様がいてこそ、コンテンツは成長することができます。
一緒に大きな花を咲かせていきましょう。

Good evening, everyone attending AnimagiC 2026!
It is a great honor for Kyoto Animation to have had the opportunity to create this year’s original character illustration for the long-established anime convention, AnimagiC.
Since AnimagiC is a gathering place for anime fans from all over, I designed the character with the feeling of someone who could step right out of an anime.
The flowers used as decorative motifs are inspired by the cornflower (Kornblume), Germany’s national flower, and the chrysanthemum, Japan’s national flower.
We are struck by the fact that both national flowers belong to the same daisy family, and I wanted them to symbolize the connection between the people of Germany and Japanese anime.
Now our AnimagiC character still needs a name, of course—and that’s where you come in!
