The proceeds from the AnimagiC 2024 charity auction went towards supporting the construction of a new school in Kigorobya, Uganda.
At AnimagiC 2024, the charity auction raised a record sum of around 14,000 Euros, which benefited the construction of a new school in the village of Kigorobya in Uganda. Thanks to all visitors who bid on one or more items, as well as the support of other FLY & HELP donors, the St. Padre Pio Kindergarten & Primary School was able to open in April 2025.
Before the new opening, due to a lack of facilities, only 400 out of 500 school-aged children could be taught at the school in Kigorobya, and they only had dilapidated wooden and mud huts available.
The new building now offers a school with a total of five classrooms, consisting of one two-unit and one three-unit block, modern sanitary facilities, a rainwater system, electrical installations, and – thanks to additional funds – its own drinking well. The fact that children in Kigorobya now have adequate access to education through the St. Padre Pio Kindergarten & Primary School, and thus the chance for a better, self-determined future, is also thanks to the bidders of the Charity Auction 2024.
