When the call rings out at the AnimagiC Friday charity auction—”Going once, going twice, sold!”—you can not only bid on incredible signed manga and anime treasures, but also contribute to a good cause with every item you win. Since AnimagiC 2023, the proceeds from our charity auction have benefited the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP, which builds schools in developing countries through donations. Read on to see what was achieved with the proceeds from the AnimagiC 2023 charity auction.

A total of €10,000 was raised at the end of the 2023 charity auction, funding the construction of a new primary school in the village of Kouadiokro in the Ivory Coast, planned and implemented by the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP.

In 2023, the classrooms still consisted of huts made of branches, clay, and straw with leaky roofs and unpaved floors (see images above). In September 2024, the new building was ceremonially opened (see below): two buildings with three furnished classrooms each, a freestanding break room, and a toilet block with six stalls now provide the approximately 300 students with the conditions for a proper education. All bidders at the charity auction played a part in this, and we would like to extend a huge thank you on behalf of the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP and, of course, especially on behalf of the 300 students at the École Primaire Publique in Kouadiokro!

Located just a few minutes’ walk from the main train station, in the heart of Mannheim, lies the Congress Center Rosengarten, the home of AnimagiC.

The picturesque Friedrichsplatz with its water tower right next to AnimagiC is gathering spot for cosplayers.

The Rosengarten itself welcomes AnimagiC visitors with its Art Nouveau entrance building, offering a top-tier convention atmosphere with space for workshops, anime screenings in technically state-of-the-art screening technology, a stage program in the large Mozart Haal and the historic Musen Haal, and generous exhibition areas for vendors, and publishers of Anime, Manga, Video Games, and more.

A pedestrian zone with many restaurants is just 200m away from the Congress Center, and with around 2,000 hotel beds within walking distance. Your stay after a long AnimagiC day is well taken care of.

Public transport runs directly from the main station to the Wasserturm and Rosengarten stops. The Rosengarten is also reachable on foot from Mannheim Main Station in about 15 minutes.

• Children under 6 do not need a ticket. However, they must be accompanied at all times by a parent/legal guardian or supervising adult with a valid AnimagiC ticket. We do not recommend taking them to the concerts (volume).
• Children and teens under 14 may only attend AnimagiC when accompanied by an adult guardian. This can be a parent/legal guardian or an adult authorized by them. The supervisor also needs a valid AnimagiC ticket.
• Teens aged 14 to 15 who are not accompanied by an adult guardian (see above) may only stay at AnimagiC until 22:00. Security staff and our crew reserve the right to carry out ID checks at any time after 22:00.
• Teens aged 16 to 17 who are not accompanied by an adult guardian (see above) may only stay at AnimagiC until 24:00.

FSK age ratings in the anime cinemas:

Since April 1, 2003, films rated 12+ may be attended by children aged 6+ when accompanied by adults with parental custody (§ 11 (2) JuSchG). For films rated 16+ or adults-only, there is no such parental privilege; the age restriction is absolute. Even with the consent of the (possibly present) parents, entry for teens who do not meet the age requirement is prohibited.

Our crew members in the anime cinemas check cinema visitors for compliance with the FSK age ratings. Please make sure you have your ID ready. If it cannot be presented upon request by our crew members, entry to the cinema is not permitted.
