In the Kibera slum area, to which Silanga belongs, the Kibera Silanga Ushirika Group (KISUG) was founded in 2001 to provide educational opportunities for children. Today, the Kibera Silanga Primary School exists there – but in a dilapidated wooden structure with corrugated iron cladding that does not meet safety and space requirements and can currently only use the ground floor, as the wooden second floor is considered unsafe.

Since this part of the slum is very densely populated and the site is therefore compact, an expansion of the school is only possible upwards. The new school will therefore be built with three floors and approximately 200 m² per floor. Eight spacious classrooms, a kitchen and infirmary, office and storage rooms, and sanitary facilities are planned to accommodate up to 160 children – thus reaching significantly more students than before (currently 117 children). In addition, a play and assembly area will be realized on the roof, along with a library with a computer room, and a well-ventilated building with secure infrastructure and water supply.

The project not only includes the purely structural part but also covers the provision of furniture, electrical connections, water tanks with a capacity of 10,000 liters, and facilities for improved hygiene and sanitation. Self-financing of the school by the local community, income from rentals, school fees, and support partnerships also ensure sustainability: The ongoing school operations are thus well secured. Once the building is complete, a safe, long-term learning environment with better conditions will be created – for the children in Silanga, but also for entire families in the surrounding area.

At AnimagiC 2024, the charity auction raised a record sum of around 14,000 Euros, which benefited the construction of a new school in the village of Kigorobya in Uganda. Thanks to all visitors who bid on one or more items, as well as the support of other FLY & HELP donors, the St. Padre Pio Kindergarten & Primary School was able to open in April 2025.

Before the new opening, due to a lack of facilities, only 400 out of 500 school-aged children could be taught at the school in Kigorobya, and they only had dilapidated wooden and mud huts available.

The new building now offers a school with a total of five classrooms, consisting of one two-unit and one three-unit block, modern sanitary facilities, a rainwater system, electrical installations, and – thanks to additional funds – its own drinking well. The fact that children in Kigorobya now have adequate access to education through the St. Padre Pio Kindergarten & Primary School, and thus the chance for a better, self-determined future, is also thanks to the bidders of the Charity Auction 2024. We would therefore like to express our sincere thanks once again for the support, also on behalf of the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP and, of course, especially the students of the St. Padre Pio Kindergarten & Primary School!

The admission rules for AnimagiC 2027 will be published in the program guide approximately two weeks before the event.

All AnimagiC visitors go to the wristband station (1) with their ticket and get their AnimagiC wristband put on there. AnimagiC ticket holders incl. hotel overnights and AnimagiC ticket holders with EXPRESS entry will receive their wristband from AnimagiC 2026 onwards in an extra lane at the wristband station.

This is also where you can pick up the Con Package Deluxe and the T-shirts for the relevant tickets. Entry for everyone is then via the EAST and WEST entrances. EXPRESS entry (4) is initially only for visitors with an EXPRESS wristband and then opens for all visitors. You’ll find the day ticket office at Entrance (5). Please note the descriptions of the individual entrances below! You can leave the Rosengarten again via Exit (3) and the WEST exit.

After the optional check at the cosplay cloakroom (2), pick up your admission wristbands* and your Con Package Deluxe and/or T-shirt here. Please have your tickets ready and leave the building again afterwards.

At the daily hall opening, visitors with the EXPRESS wristband will be admitted first. Security checks begin 20 minutes before the official entry time. Ticket holders with EXPRESS entry can then wait in the foyer until admission starts. EXPRESS entry begins:

The (short) queue for EXPRESS entry is indicated by the corresponding sign.

Via this entrance you can reach the box office and the info counter. The info counter is your first point of contact for questions and problems. Box office customers receive their wristband directly when purchasing the ticket. Please note: You must leave the Rosengarten again until the halls open for the program.

Accessible AnimagiC

Wheelchair users and persons with reduced mobility may access the Rosengarten barrier-free – they will be admitted via the box office entrance. Accessible toilets are located on Level -1 and Level 2.

By entering through this glass cube entrance, you can access the Bring & Buy area in the Vario Hall on Friday in advance from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. There, you can drop off your items for sale even before AnimagiC opens. The AnimagiC wristband must be put on beforehand.

Queues at AnimagiC – Tips

On Friday, there may be somewhat longer lines at wristband pickup at certain times. We cannot influence or predict the duration of queues due to the varying arrival times of AnimagiC attendees. It is advisable not to show up just before the hall opens.

Lines form at the EAST and WEST entrances around opening time, as many visitors queue well before the halls open. However, entry moves quickly, and the initial rush should be handled by the time programming starts each day. Wheelchair users and mobility-impaired visitors receive entry via the Box Office entrance.

a) Smoking, drugs/cannabis, and alcohol are strictly prohibited throughout the entire Rosengarten. We ask that you also refrain from any consumption in the forecourt area. Read the current entry regulations (including bag checks, prohibited items, bringing food and beverages) here.

b) The building, facilities, and all installations and exhibits must be treated with care. Distribution of flyers and promotional materials is not permitted. The entire Rosengarten is under video surveillance.

c) Due to the risk of theft at events like AnimagiC, please keep a close eye on your belongings. We accept no liability for stolen, lost, or (deliberately) damaged items, including clothing, cosplay outfits, bags, wallets, and ID documents.

d) Attendance at the event and participation in any contests, exhibitions, etc., is at your own risk. No liability is accepted for personal injury or property damage.

e) We ask for appropriate, polite conduct toward our guests of honor. What they may sign and to what extent depends on the guidelines of their respective companies. Please understand that many of our guests of honor do not wish to be filmed, photographed, or recorded in any other way.

f) Filming, Photography & Other Recording Rules: A general ban on filming, photography, and other types of recording applies to all program points in concert halls, panel, screening, and presentation rooms (AnimagiC cinemas, CineMagic cinemas, Mozart Hall and Musen Hall, etc.). After a second warning from our crew, you will be required to leave the room. Mobile phones must be switched off at all times. Filming and photography for private purposes is permitted in other convention areas (but observe point e)). Livestreaming from AnimagiC is not permitted.

g) With regard to GDPR, please note that photography and filming may take place at individual program events by the companies conducting them, for use in online channels or home-release discs, for example—please observe the notices for individual panels. Official AnimagiC photographers are present on the convention grounds to collect images for print, online, and PR coverage of AnimagiC. Press representatives are not official AnimagiC photographers and must comply with GDPR obligations toward attendees photographed and filmed with consent.

h) Your wristband allows you to leave and re-enter the Rosengarten Mannheim as often as you like during its validity period. However, participation in individual program events is not guaranteed, as the number of available tickets is based on the capacity of the entire convention building with all its rooms. Once maximum capacity is reached for a program event in a room, no further entry is possible. The wristband may not be tampered with or transferred to others (obtaining services by deception).

i) Entry rules for Mozart Hall and Musen Hall: Mozart Hall and Musen Hall are generally not cleared between program points. Seat reservations by attendees are not permitted. If necessary, “held” seats will be released by staff before the program point begins. The first doors of the Mozart Hall (from the stage) are exit-only and must be kept clear. All concerts and program points are seated.

j) Please treat your fellow attendees with respect and consideration and observe common decency. For cosplays, the upper body, buttocks, and intimate areas must be adequately covered. In light of the popularity of Tokyo Revengers, we expressly point out that use of the manji symbol as part of cosplay or on fan clothing is prohibited at AnimagiC. Cosplay does not constitute general, implicit consent—ask cosplayers if you may photograph them, and obtain their permission if you wish to upload the images online.

k) If anyone behaves inappropriately toward you at the event or if you need help, please contact our security and crew at any time—the info counter is located in the entrance hall and always has an open ear for you.

We as organizers exercise property rights. The comissioned security company, as well as other authorized persons such as crew members and staff, are therefore authorized to remove unwanted persons from a room or the premises at any time. In the event of rule violations, deliberate destruction, (attempted) theft, or abusive behavior, we reserve the right to exclude the attendee from the current event as well as from future events.
